KAMPSTER COOKIE POLICY

1. INTRODUCTION

This Cookie Policy explains how Kampster DOO (Serbia), the data controller for the Kampster Service ("Kampster," "we," "us," or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at https://kampster.com and related applications (collectively, the "Service"). Our EU representative (GDPR Article 27) is Prighter (https://app.prighter.com/portal/19848992175). This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We use cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning of our Service, analyze our performance, and enhance your experience. This policy provides you with clear and comprehensive information about the cookies we use and the choices you have regarding their use.

2. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit our website. They allow us to recognize your device and remember certain information about your visit, such as your preferences and actions on our website.

Cookies are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide valuable information to website owners. Some cookies and similar identifiers may constitute personal data under data protection law; we handle these as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. COOKIES AND STORAGE WE USE

We use cookies and device storage for sign-in, preferences, our own product analytics and advertising measurement. We do not load third-party advertising tags, pixels or Google Analytics on our website: all cookies listed here are our own, and any data sent to advertising platforms leaves from our servers as described in Section 3.3.

3.1 Sign-in and Preferences

  • nuxt-session: maintains your authenticated session; sign-in sets a lifetime of approximately one year.
  • kampster.returnTo: remembers your destination during sign-in, for up to 30 minutes.
  • join-team: carries a team invitation through sign-in and onboarding; a session cookie cleared when the flow no longer needs it.
  • i18n_redirected: remembers your language preference for up to one year.
  • kampster.workspace: remembers your selected personal or team workspace for up to one year.

3.2 Product Analytics and Learning Activity

We record navigation, page sections reached, buttons clicked, A/B test variants shown, completed onboarding steps, lesson activity, paywall and purchase events, and related product interactions in our own systems, before and after you sign in. Once you sign in, these records are linked to your account; they are not anonymous browsing statistics.

  • kp_vid: a random identifier for your browser, so we can recognise return visits, measure our website and show you the same A/B test variant each time; up to one year.

On the website, kampster.product-session.v1 in session storage groups product events within a browser tab. A new event session is assigned after 30 minutes of inactivity; the stored entry normally lasts until the tab's browser session ends. In our mobile apps, product events use an in-memory session identifier and may include the app's device identifier.

We also record active platform time and lesson time for signed-in users. Time stops counting when the app is hidden or after 60 seconds without interaction. See our Privacy Policy for the data we collect and how we use it.

3.3 Advertising Measurement

When you arrive from a Meta or TikTok ad, the link carries a click identifier. We keep it on our servers (not in a cookie) and, where allowed, our servers send Meta and TikTok limited events (page views, sign-ups, the start of onboarding and its steps, lesson starts and completions, checkout starts and purchases) so we can measure our ads. Our Privacy Policy (Section 7.6) lists exactly what is sent.

  • kp_consent: remembers your choice, Accept or Reject; up to one year.
  • kp_country: the country of your connection, so we ask for your choice where the law requires it; up to one year, updated when it changes.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and whenever we cannot tell your country, we send these events only after you choose Accept. Elsewhere we send them unless you choose Reject. Our mobile apps never send them.

4. SERVICE PROVIDERS

Payment and subscription services, including Stripe on the web and RevenueCat in our mobile apps, remain part of the Service. They process payment, device and subscription information as described in our Privacy Policy. Sign-in providers may use their own cookies when you choose to sign in through them.

We use Sentry for error reporting. Session replay and performance tracing are not enabled in our Sentry configuration. Email engagement and push-notification taps are recorded separately from website cookies. These services are not controlled by your advertising-measurement choice.

5. HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES

Most web browsers allow you to manage your cookie preferences. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. The methods for doing so vary from browser to browser, and from version to version. You can obtain up-to-date information about blocking and deleting cookies via the support pages of your browser:

6. YOUR SETTINGS

Our cookie banner asks visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland to Accept or Reject advertising measurement; both choices work the same way in the Service. Wherever you are, you can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in our website footer; it applies from that moment on. Choices made in our former cookie banner (before September 27, 2026) are not carried over.

You can clear cookies and browser storage using your browser settings. Clearing sign-in or preference cookies may sign you out or reset your preferences. Clearing browser storage does not delete records already held in our systems; see the Privacy Policy for your rights and how to contact us. Email preferences and consent choices for AI personalization, billing and proctored assessments remain separate.

7. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

We store your data using secure cloud infrastructure, primarily in the EU region:

  • Hosting, file storage and content delivery: managed cloud providers
  • Database and cache: managed services hosted in the EU
  • Security: all data is encrypted in transit and at rest

Our infrastructure is hosted in the EU. Some of our providers are established in the United States; where that involves any access to personal data from outside the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as described in our Privacy Policy. The current list of our data processors is available on request via the contact details in Section 9.

8. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you through a notice on our website or by email.
