What to expect from Systems Thinking

Do I need prior experience with systems thinking?

No. The placement takes about two minutes and finds your current level. If you already understand some concepts, those are skipped. If you are new, you begin with system components, boundaries, and emergent properties.

Is this mostly theory?

No. You apply the Iceberg Model, draw causal loop and stock-and-flow diagrams, compare leverage points, map unintended consequences, interpret simulations, and prepare to facilitate group model building.

How much time should I set aside?

A daily lesson takes about five minutes. At that pace, one month can realistically move you roughly one capability level, depending on your starting point and performance.

Can I use my own workplace problem?

Yes. You can create a custom lesson for a specific scenario in about 30 seconds. You can also ask Kai to help examine assumptions, map feedback, or roleplay a stakeholder discussion.

Does the course have a fixed end date?

No. It keeps adapting past each plateau until you reach the top of the proficiency scale. Spaced repetition also brings back material before you are likely to forget it.
